Scorpions recruit Mikkey Dee Official to fill in on U.S. Dates!

SCORPIONS will hit the road in May for twelve North American headlining dates with Mikkey Dee formerly of Official Motörhead sitting in on drums for James Kottak, announced today. Kottak is currently on break while he seeks medical attention. Swedish-born Mikkey Dee joined Motörhead in 1992 and is well-respected among the rock and metal community.

Scorpions singer Klaus Meine states “We would like to continue our Return to Forever tour with James, but we have to realize that his health is priority. We wish James a speedy recovery and he will be back to Rock with us very soon! We look forward to seeing all our fans this month.”

Scorpions kick off the 2016 U.S. leg with twelve dates in May beginning at Carolina Rebellion in Charlotte, NC on May 6th and includes a Las Vegas residency.

Celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2015, the SCORPIONS are one of the most successful rock bands to come out of Continental Europe. On September 30, their never-before-released, jaw dropping and emotional final concert of the "Sting In The Tale" world tour will be released as the concert film "Live In Munich 2012" via Eagle Rock Entertainment.

Since 1992, the Swedish Mikkey Dee used to be a former band member of Motörhead until the dissolution of the rock band after the death of Lemmy Kilmister.

The Scorpions regretfully announce that due to severe laryngitis, the remainder of the U.S. 2017 tour will be cancelled. Klaus Meine has been advised by top throat specialist in Los Angeles to rest his voice. If he continues the tour, he could risk permanent vocal damage. The band stated, “that they truly hate to disappoint our fans, and hope to come back to America soon, but this time we have no choice but to cancel.” – SCORPIONS

German hard rock legends SCORPIONS are preparing to record a "historic" new album with a "famous" producer, guitarist Rudolf Schenker has revealed.

The upcoming disc will mark the band's first release since 2017's "Born To Touch Your Feelings - Best Of Rock Ballads", which was an anthology of SCORPIONS' new and classic material.

SCORPIONS' last full-length collection of new recordings was 2015's "Return To Forever", partially comprising songs the band had in the vault from the '80s. It was the final recorded appearance of SCORPIONS' longtime drummer James Kottak, who was dismissed from the band in September 2016. He has since been replaced by Mikkey Dee, formerly of MOTÖRHEAD.

In an interview with Headbangers Lifestyle conducted at the end of last year, Rudolf confirmed that SCORPIONS are planning to begin work on a new LP in the coming months.

"Why we have this idea of recording a new album is because Mikkey became, let's say, a great force for SCORPIONS," he said. "When we were fighting for a change and [trying to] get us back on track with the band, and it didn't work, we found Mikkey. Mikkey just fits perfectly into the chemistry of SCORPIONS. Plus, he is a very creative person. That means we have now the chance to make an album that is special and fresh.

"Everybody in the band is now on leave and at home to celebrate the holidays with his family, until the New Year," Rudolf continued. "We will meet again in the New Year and everybody will come and bring in ideas in the studio. We already found a producer to record with. A famous and well-known personality… No, I'm not gonna say who he is… really not! But we are all very excited to produce a new, historic rock 'n' roll album."

Dear Fans, the good news first... we had a fantastic show in Melbourne wednesday night at the Rod Laver Arena... loved every minute of it... it just feels soooo good to be back in Australia !!!! The bad news is... I have had kidney stone surgery in a Melbourne Hospital... it was a very painful attack...
In the hospital they removed the stone, and put in a stent... can you imagine how i feel right now ??? So sorry Sydney... Do we have to cancel again ??? It looks like it... but we are hoping to re-schedule for next week, day to be announced.
Dr Katz and his team are taking very good care of me... i’m in the best hands, but i doubt i’ll be back on my feet until early next week... with lots of Love with a Heavy Heart from Melbourne... Klaus
