TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN detalles de su disco en solirtario "The Life And Times Of Scrooge McDuck"Tuomas Holopainen compositor y tecladista de Nightwish ha pasado la mayor parte de 2013 escribiendo y produciendo su álbum en solitario. El álbum se basa en una novela gráfica llamada "The Life And Times Of Scrooge McDuck", escrita e ilustrada por Don Rosa.

"El libro de doce capítulos cuenta la historia del Tío Gilito, desde sus primeros años en la Escocia del siglo XIX a sus aventuras por todo el mundo hasta la década de 1950. La historia tiene mucha profundidad, detalle, ingenio y emoción, y desde el momento en que Tuomas la leyó hace casi 20 años, se convirtió instantáneamente en una historia de profundo amor e interés personal. La chispa inicial de "colorear" esta historia con la música, es decir, crear una especie de "banda sonora" del libro, viene ya de 1999, y desde entonces ha estado rondando en su mente."
El álbum fue escrito y producido por Tuomas Holopainen y tendrá 10 canciones, con una duración total de aproximadamente 60 minutos. La música será en cuanto a géneros una combinación de banda sonora, música clásica y folk en la linea de Vaughan Williams, Michael Nyman, James Newton Howard y Enya .
Pip Williams se encargo nuevamente de los arreglos orquestales, continuando su colaboración con Tuomas tras los discos de Nightwish "Once", "Dark Passion Play" y "Imaginaerum".
Habrá una serie de músicos invitados, entre ellos la London Orchestra, The Metro Voices (un coro de Londres) y cuatro vocalistas :Alan Reid, Johanna Kurkela, Johanna Iivanainen y Tony Kakko. Otras colaboraciones son las de Troy Donockley (gaita irlandesa , flautas, bodhran), Mikko Iivanainen (guitarra y banjo), Teho Majamäki (Didgeridoo), Jon Burr (Armónica) y Dermot Crehan en el solo de violín .
Las grabaciones tuvieron lugar de agosto a octubre de 2013 por primera vez en los "Angel Studios" de Londres, y en varios lugares de Escocia y Finlandia.
El autor del libro, Don Rosa, ha hecho portada para el álbum.
Se lanzará un single del tema "A Lifetime Of Adventure", y un videoclip del mismo a principios de 2014. El lanzamiento del disco está programado para abril de 2014 .

This 12 - chapter book tells the life story of a certain Scrooge McDuck, from his early years in the 19th century Scotland to his adventures all around the world until the 1950's. The story contains such immense depth, detail, wit and emotional power, that the moment Tuomas read it nearly 20 years ago, it instantly became a story of profound personal interest and love for him. The initial spark of 'coloring' this story with music, i.e. create a kind of "soundtrack" for the book, came to him already in 1999, and has ever since been haunting the back of his mind.
The album was written and produced by Tuomas Holopainen and will contain 10 songs, with total duration of approximately 60 minutes. The music will be of soundtrack / classical / folk genre in the vein of Vaughan Williams, Michael Nyman, James Newton Howard and Enya.
Mr. Pip Williams has done the orchestral arrangements, continuing his collaboration with Tuomas after the NIGHTWISH records »Once«, »Dark Passion Play« & »Imaginaerum«.
There will be a number of guest musicians, including the London Orchestra, The Metro Voices (a choir from London) and four lead vocalists: Alan Reid, Johanna Kurkela, Johanna Iivanainen & Tony Kakko.
