Fallece el ex-batería de IRON MAIDEN Clive BurrLa banda ha comunicado el fallecimiento de Clive Burr en su web oficial.
"Nos entristece profundamente informar de que Clive Burr falleció anoche. Su salud era mala desde hace muchos años tras ser diagnosticado con esclerosis múltiple y murió tranquilamente mientras dormía en su casa.
Steve Harris: "Esta es una noticia muy triste. Clive era un viejo amigo de todos nosotros. Era una persona maravillosa y un batería increíble que hizo una valiosa contribución a Maiden en los primeros días, cuando estábamos empezando. Este es un día triste para todos los miembros de la banda y los que la rodean y nuestros pensamientos y condolencias están con su pareja Mimi y su familia en este momento".
Bruce Dickinson añade "Conocí a Clive cuando salía de Sansón y se unía a Iron Maiden. Era un gran hombre que realmente vivió su vida al máximo. Incluso durante los días más oscuros de su esclerosis múltiple, Clive nunca perdió su sentido del humor o irreverencia. Este es un día muy triste y todos nuestros pensamientos están con Mimi y la familia "
Como todos los fans de Maiden sabemos, Clive se unió a Maiden en 1979 y actuó en los tres primeros álbumes de Iron Maiden (1980), Killers (1981) y The Number Of The Beast (1982). Antes él era un miembro de Samson, la banda que liderada Bruce antes de que él también se uniese a Maiden.

We are deeply saddened to report that Clive Burr passed away last night. He had suffered poor health for many years after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and died peacefully in his sleep at home.
Steve Harris said “This is terribly sad news. Clive was a very old friend of all of us. He was a wonderful person and an amazing drummer who made a valuable contribution to Maiden in the early days when we were starting out. This is a sad day for everyone in the band and those around him and our thoughts and condolences are with his partner Mimi and family at this time."
Bruce Dickinson adds “I first met Clive when he was leaving Samson and joining Iron Maiden. He was a great guy and a man who really lived his life to the full. Even during the darkest days of his M.S., Clive never lost his sense of humour or irreverence. This is a terribly sad day and all our thoughts are with Mimi and the family”
As Maiden fans all know, Clive joined Maiden in 1979 and performed on the first three albums Iron Maiden (1980), Killers (1981) and The Number Of The Beast (1982). Prior to that he was a member of Samson, the band Bruce fronted before he too joined Maiden.
