98-7 FM, the commercial modern rock radio station in Los Angeles, California, conducted an interview with MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx on Saturday, August 20 when the band returned to its roots and closed the fourth annual Sunset Strip Music Festival (SSMF) in Hollywood. While speaking about MÖTLEY CRÜE's plans to return to the studio to make a new studio album, Sixx said, "I've got a ton of riffs, I've got a ton of ideas, Tommy's [Lee, drums] got ideas, and eventually we'll just kind of start getting together in a room and showing each other ideas and see what happens. My idea for a record is… We can't depend upon radio or anything else to sell records, so I think we should depend upon what really juices us, and for me right now, I would love to make an extremely heavy, non-commercial record — more like a 'Shout At The Devil' type of a record."
