yo he estado en dos conciertos de opeth y son de lo mejor que he escuchado porque suenan tal y como les oyes en los discos. Una banda genial.

Per Wiberg abandona OPETH


El teclista Per Wiberg ha sido relevado de sus funciones como miembro OPETH tras un acuerdo con la banda. El teclado en laspróxima gira estará a cargo de un músico que ya está ensayando con la banda. Su identidad se dará a conocer en fechas próximas .

El vocalista y guitarrista Mikael Åkerfeldt hizo las siguientes declaraciones al respecto: "Bueno, ha sido algo así como una puerta giratoria durante el último par de años, y ahora ya no es miembro de la banda. [Martin] Méndez [bajo],. Axe [Martin Axenrot, batería], Fredrik [Åkesson, guitarrista] y yo, decidimos que debíamos encontrar un reemplazo en condiciones para después de las grabaciones del nuevo álbum, y esto no fue una sorpresa para Per. El a su vez, había pensando en dejarlo, por lo que se podría decir que fue una decisión mutua. No hay mala sangre, sólo una relación que llegó a su fin y eso es todo. Le deseamos lo mejor, hizo un espléndido trabajo con el teclado en la grabación del último disco, que se erige como su última grabación con Opeth. "

cosa más rara, hace unos días hablé con su manager y me dijo que estaban muy liaos trabajando pero quetodo estaba bien, de todos modos el Wiberg este parece que no termibaba de encajarle mucho

OPETH han elegido "Heritage", como el título de su décimo álbum, previsto para septiembre a través de Roadrunner Records. El CD fue grabado a principios de este año en los estudios Atlantis (antes estudios Metronome) en Estocolmo. Fue mezclado por Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) y el vocalista y guitarrista Mikael Åkerfeldt.

Detalles de lo próximo de OPETH, Heritage

Si ayer OPETH anunciaba que su nuevo disco se iba a llamar "Heritage", el grupo ha revelado hoy varios detalles de la obra. El trabajo ha sido producido por el cantante y guitarrista de la banda, Mikael Åkerfeldt, en los estudios Atlantis de Estocolmo, y mezclado por Steven Wilson de PORCUPINE TREE y el propio Åkerfeldt. La portada, que todavía no ha sido mostrada, ha sido realizada por Travis Smith. "Heritage" será editado el 20 de septiembre por Roadrunner Records. Sus canciones serán las siguientes:

Según Åkerfeldt la música suena "de forma intensa a veces, de una manera turbia, y muy bella e inhóspita por momentos [...] Me he dado cuenta de que mis influencias para este disco son tan diversas que no puedo decir realmente a qué suena. Si tengo que compararlo con alguna banda, tendría que ser con OPETH, pero es diferente de todo lo que hemos hecho antes. He escuchado mucho ALICE COOPER el año pasado, aunque no puedo decir que suene como 'No More Mr. Nice Guy'."

Opeth are set to release their highly anticpated new album Heritage this coming fall. Check out the official press release.

Sweden’s most revered and respected progressive metal mavens Opeth will release Heritage, their third album for Roadrunner, on September 20th. The first video and single will be the song “The Devil’s Orchard”. Heritage follows up 2008’s Watershed and 2005’s Ghost Reveries, each of which garnered the forward-thinking, genre-bending band some of the best reviews of their career.

Opeth frontman and guitarist Mikael Åkerfeldt weighed in on Heritage, saying, "It will be our 10th album/observation. I dig it; we all do. In fact, it feels like I've been building up to write for and participate on an album like this since I was 19."

Åkerfeldt went a little deeper and described the music contained within Heritage, saying, "It's quite intense at times in some 'old' murky way, and quite beautiful and stark at times, if I may say so myself. It's obvious I'm going to say nice things about it since I wrote basically the whole piece, but I guess it will raise a few eyebrows and it certainly is an acquired taste. I think you'll need a slightly deeper understanding of our music as a whole to be able to appreciate this record. I've realized my influences for this album are so diverse that I can't really say what it sounds like. If I can compare it to any other band, it would have to be Opeth, but it's different from the stuff we've done before. I've listened a lot to Alice Cooper for the last year, yet I can't say it sounds like 'No More Mr. Nice Guy'. I hope you'll like it once you hear it."

The album was produced by Åkerfeldt and mixed along with Porcupine Tree frontman/guitarist Steven Wilson, who is also a labelmate of Opeth. Longtime collaborator Travis Smith also worked with Åkerfeldt to create, design and execute the album’s artwork.

There is something for every Opeth fan, thanks to this variety of options.

Opeth will also embark on a seven-week, headline tour of the US. Dates will be announced imminently.
