2016-11-16 - Today, legendary New Jersey thrashers, OVERKILL, have announced their upcoming eighteenth album, »The Grinding Wheel«. The album will be released on February 10, 2017 via Nuclear Blast.

»The Grinding Wheel« was produced by the band and mixed by Andy Sneap (TESTAMENT, EXODUS, ACCEPT). The artwork was created again by Travis Smith (NEVERMORE, OPETH, SOILWORK, DEATH...).

Legendary New Jersey thrashers, OVERKILL, have kept the machine running strong in 2017 with the release of their highly-acclaimed eighteenth album, The Grinding Wheel, as well as adding another US tour under their belts. Today, the band welcomes another addition to the OVERKILL history with their new drummer, Jason "Sticks" Bittner (SHADOWS FALL, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM).

Jason "Sticks" Bittner states, "When my phone rang about 2 months ago and Blitz said 'Hey, me and DD are wondering if you would be interested in joining?' It really didn't take much for me to write back a one word answer.........ABSOLUTELY! I am extremely excited to be a part, once again, of thrash metal history, and I can not wait to get out on the road and wreck stages across the world with the 'Mean Green Killing Machine!'"

2018-03-16 - Legendary New Jersey thrashers OVERKILL have announced they will release their »Live In Overhausen« album on May 18, 2018 via Nuclear Blast.

Celebrating the band's history, »Live In Overhausen« captured not one but two album anniversaries. Fans assembled on April 16, 2016 at Turbinenhalle 2 in Oberhausen, Germany for the 25th anniversary of »Horrorscope« and 30th anniversary of where it all began, »Feel The Fire«. A full night of kill from the past played loud and in its entirety!

Bobby Blitz comments, "From the stage to your eyes and ears! »Live In Overhausen«, celebrating »Feel The Fire« and »Horrorscope« in one, filmed/recorded concert in Germany from 2016. A rare, two hour look at what has transpired over three decades in one of the world's hotbeds of metal. Hang on to your hats kids, its going to be a 'THRASHY-RIDE'!"

2018-11-28 - Legendary New Jersey thrashers OVERKILL will unleash their 19th studio record, »The Wings Of War«, on February 22nd, 2019 via Nuclear Blast.

Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth comments:
"It was a blast making The Wings of War! It is something old feeling new again, as our chemistry was altered by the addition of Jason Bittner. I was curious from the get-go, how would it pan out? I think what we accomplished here is a new, upgraded Overkill that embraced the new chemistry, while taking our roots into the present. The new formula produced not only more raw power, but more places to go with melody, a win, win. The key is being not only interested in the change, but part of it. I'll tell you what, it's still fun as hell making Overkill records.

»The Wings Of War« was recorded at Gear Recording Studio in New Jersey, SKH Studio in Florida and Jrod Productions with engineering handled by DD and Dave. The album was produced by the band while Chris "Zeuss" Harris handled the mixing and mastering. Travis Smith (NEVERMORE, OPETH, SOILWORK, DEATH...) was once again enlisted to create the artwork for the album.
