Sirenia - unveil the cover for their new album "Arcane Astral Aeons" & announce European tour dates!

The Nordic Epic Metal masters SIRENIA are going to return to the European stages again. In November, Morten Veland and his bandmates are heading South for an headlining tour. Supported by their fellow Norwegians, Triosphere, SIRENIA will bring their epic melancholic symbiosis of orchestral opuses and raw heavy metal sounds to the UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and Italy. Don’t miss the chance to see them on the road.

On this tour, SIRENIA will play tracks from their brand new album, called Arcane Astral Aeons, scheduled for release by the end of October 2018. Be amongst the first to listen to this brand new opus live! Today, we are proud to unveil the album cover.

“We are very pleased to present the artwork for our new album Arcane Astral Aeons. Once more we have worked with designer Gyula Havancsák to create an artwork that renders and adorns the heart and soul of our music. The album was recorded in Audio Avenue Studios (Norway), and Sound Suite Studios (France), while the mixing and mastering took place in Hansen Studios (Denmark) with mixing engineer Jacob Hansen. This album is something unique to us as it is the first one we have made together with our fans, everyone who have supported our pledge campaign has directly contributed to the funding of the album and to make it what it has turned out to be.
We are very proud of what we have achieved together and we're very eager to share it with you, hoping that you all will find it as special as we do."

Founded back in 2001 and after being active as a top-notch offering in the genre for almost 20 years, SIRENIA serve a new, exquisite pearl of symphonic metal: The four-piece around mastermind Morten Veland releases its tenth studio album, Riddles, Ruins & Revelations, on February 12, 2021 via Napalm Records!

Today, the band has unleashed a bewitching new music video for the first single “Addiction No. 1”. As the album opener, it immediately showcases the direction SIRENIA are aiming in with their new epos, and is a prime example of how modern melodies chime together with classic symphonic instrumentation. Electronic vibes merge with harsh riffing, while the catchy chorus draws the listener straight into the unique symphonic world of the four-piece, all topped with the outstanding vocals of Emmanuelle Zoldan.

"This is our first single taken from the upcoming album. Musically I feel that this song really shows a modernised and new side of SIRENIA. I find the song very catchy, but heavy at the same time. Furthermore we have given the electronic elements a bigger role in this song. We hope you'll enjoy it!"

"Riddles, Ruins & Revelations is SIRENIA's tenth studio album. The album is very diverse, as a SIRENIA album should be. There's a lot of material that shows the band from a new side, and there is lots of material that is to be expected from the band musically. All in all the album will take the listeners through a journey that will cover both familiar and unexplored musical landscapes. We hope that you will enjoy the journey.”

“'Twist in my Sobriety' is the first single from our upcoming album entitled 1977. This is the bonus track of our 11th album, and it is a cover version of Tanita Tikaram's original from 1988. I have loved this song since it was released, and it has a very melancholic vibe to it, so it felt like an interesting project to make a SIRENIA version of it. I hope that you will enjoy it while we wait for the upcoming album release”

"Exploring a new style like never before – symphonic metal icons SIRENIA revolutionize their melodic darkness on the brand new studio album, 1977, out May 26, 2023 via Napalm Records. Transporting the listener to a retro auditory arcade harking back to when groovy synthwave melodies dominated the world of music, the international band merges late 70’s and 80’s pop rock stylings with synthwave elements and their remarkable, hard-hitting symphonic melodies - shaking the listener to the core. Once again, Norwegian mastermind, bandleader, multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter Morten Veland produced the 11th record, while HK at Vamacara Studio, France, took care of the mixing. It marks another prove that, after more than twenty years of existence, SIRENIA still rank at the very top of the genre.

Captured within the magic of captivating 80’s sonics, the four-piece opens up their enchanting new offering with the captivating opener “Deadlight”. The world of soulful violin and fragile piano lines builds up an energetic atmosphere, underlined by the wistful tunes of the multi-talented mezzo soprano voice of French singer Emmanuelle Zoldan. The track is followed by the fast-paced “Wintry Heart”, which gives a bittersweet taste of early 90’s vibes and roaring guitars, while “Nomadic” represents SIRENIA’s characteristic dark and heavy side as shredding guitar riffs alternate with playful interludes while relentless drums and symphonic electronic elements go hand in hand with another. “A Thousand Scars” marks a totally new fusion for SIRENIA, as heavy symphonic tunes dressed as remarkable rock riffs and poppy rhythms dance together with the feathery light vocals of Emmanuelle. With the eerie and epic tunes of “Fading to the Deepest Black”, the song is reminiscent of their last album, Riddles, Ruins & Revelations (2021). Kicking off with vertiginous blast beats and a mesmerizing performance by Emmanuelle Zoldan, a warm vocal interlude by Morten Veland supports the song's stunning atmosphere before it leads into an impressive guitar solo. Following their operatic symphonic highs, the heavy side of SIRENIA is not forgotten and appears especially towards the end of their 11th record. Wrapping up their multifaceted album, 1977, the bonus track “Twist in my Sobriety” is an absolute time machine. The cover of the million-times-over streamed song by German born British singer Tanita Tikaram matches the surprisingly deep voice that presents Emmanuelle in a very new range, while the eerie mid-tempo appears in a brand new light of modern synth beats and characteristic synth-oboe. Morten Veland states: “‘Twist in my Sobriety’ is a track that I have enjoyed since it was originally released by Tanita Tikaram back in 1988. The song has a very melancholic vibe to it, which in my opinion makes it a perfect match with SIRENIA.” Transporting their fans right into smokey, neon lit nightclubs, the eclectic mix of 1977 opens up exciting new facets of symphonic, electronic and groove elements in SIRENIA’s music."
