De Stratovarius (los viejos) se crearán dos nuevos grupos:

1.- Revolution Renaisance (que en realidad es Tolki y cantantes de lujos)

2.-Los nuevos Stratovarius, si les cedio los derechos o no, ellos seguiran son buenos musicos y un muy buen cantante. De hecho para mi que se cambiaran o no el nombre venderian igual.

Que siga adelante el power metal, y que el pasado quede en el pasado, pero que no pasen los temas de strato q tanto nos marcaron.

STRATOVARIUS preparando nuevo material

La banda finlandesa STRATOVARIUS, ha vuelto a dar señales de su actividad. Por el momento, y como ya anunciamos, realizarán una gira de conciertos por el Reino Unido.

Por otro lado, la banda también ha confirmado un nuevo disco para este 2009. El primero tras la salida de Timo Tolkki, principal compositor de la banda en el pasado. Según una información de prensa, el nuevo disco será “un petardo positivo y poderoso que todos los fans alrededor de todo el mundo, seguramente adorarán”.

El teclista Jens Johanson, comentó que “después que Tolkki acepte que seguimos adelante sin él, y después de componer juntos nuevamente el pasado verano, decidimos que el legado de STATOVARIUS debe ser mantenido”.

Timo Kotipelto, vocalista ha comentado también que estamos todos muy animados con el nuevo material y también con poder tocar como STRATOVARIUS para nuestros fans. Estamos impacientes”.

STRATOVARIUS ha buscado un nuevo sello con algunas demos de canciones que probablemente estarán en el próximo disco. Algunos nombres son:

* "Something Precious"
* "I Am Blind"
* "Free Diving"

STRATOVARIUS saca nuevo trabajo en mayo

Finnish melodic metallers STRATOVARIUS will release their brand new studio album, "Polaris", in May. The CD — the group's first since the departure of guitar player and main composer Timo Tolkki — will be made available via the band's new label partner Edel under the new imprint earMUSIC outside of Asia and the band's longtime record company in Asia, JVC.

Commented keyboardist Jens Johansson: "We are very happy to have found strong label partners for the new era of STRATOVARIUS who truly believe in the band and are as enthusiastic as we are. I can't wait to hit the road again and meet all fans who supported us through all our good and bad times."

In September 2008, freed from many burdens of negativity, the band found the freedom to go into seclusion for almost a month in a cottage by the sea in a Finnish forest to relax, laugh, write songs, be creative together, and record. And they found themselves being a band reborn. The result is a melodic, powerful, fresh, tight, and technically elaborate new album.

"Polaris" was recorded in the fall 2008 at Hästholmen and 5by5 studios in Helsinki, Finland. Mixed by the longtime confidant of the band Mikko Karmila the album became another shining polar star at the Northern sky. Powerful melodies mingle with sophisticated arrangements, strong anthems stand alongside heavy songs. 11 songs full of energy, musicianship, and a positive outlook.

Vocalist Timo Kotipelto explains: "'Polaris' is a positive, powerful album that STRATOVARIUS fans all over the world are certain to take to their hearts."

The band will support the release of their new studio album with live shows around the globe. The world tour will start in the U.K., followed by a number of dates in continental Europe. September will see STRATOVARIUS playing live shows in Asia, followed by a full North and South American tour in September/October. A European headlining tour is scheduled for January 2010.

STRATOVARIUS' latest addition is 25-year-old Finnish guitar phenomenon Matias Kupiainen. Drummer Jörg Michael said, "In Matias we found new character who fits perfectly with his way of melodic guitar shredding. He is a killer player, a 'wunderkind' from Finland!"

TIMO TOLKKI To Record New Album With Former STRATOVARIUS Members

Timo Tolkki (REVOLUTION RENAISANCE, STRATOVARIUS) has announced that he will record another album with former STRATOVARIUS members Tuomo Lassila (drums) and Anti Ikonen (keyboards). Tentatively titled "Return To Dremspace", the CD is slated for a September 2009 release. The fans will decide the name of the project in some sort of contest. Tolkki says, "If the fans decide that it should be called STRATOVARIUS, then it will. Then I will face the consequences, but that will be one interesting trial, I tell you that."

Regarding the musical direction of the CD, Tolkki said, "It has been 15 years from [STRATOVARIUS' 'Dreamspace'] album, so it will be interesting, for sure... It's not a 'remake,' but a brand new album. A closure for [what] I consider to be the end of STRATOVARIUS. It completes the cycle and returns to the beginning."

Tolkki drew up and signed an official waiver on May 20, 2008 giving up all rights to the STRATOVARIUS name. The remaining STRATOVARIUS members — Timo Kotipelto (vocals), Jens Johansson (keyboards) and Lauri Porra (bass) — have since announced plans to carry on with new guitarist Matias Kupiainen.
